1. Who we are
FomoDaily Inc. (“FomoDaily”, “we”, “us”) operates this website and service and is the controller of your personal information. Contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
Information you give us or that your sign-in provider shares
- Account details: your name and email address, and an identifier from Google or Microsoft, when you sign in with them. We do not receive your password from those providers, and we do not store your profile picture.
- Your interests: the phrases you ask us to track (for example, a show, product or event type) and the options you set for each one.
- Preferences: timezone, languages, digest schedule, email format, alert and relevance settings, and your accepted terms version and date.
Information we generate
- Digests: a record of which articles we included in the digests we made for you, so we never send the same item twice.
- Email opens: if “Track email opens” is on in Settings (it is on by default), each email contains a tiny image that tells us the digest was opened. We record only the time it was first opened, not your location or device. Turn it off any time in Settings. Links in digests go straight to the publisher; we do not track clicks.
- Technical logs: our servers log standard request details (IP address, user agent, requested URL, time) for security and troubleshooting. These are kept for up to 30 days.
We do not collect payment card details ourselves; if paid plans are enabled, payments are handled by a payment processor and we receive only the plan and billing status.
3. How we use it
- To run the service: sign you in, find and rank content for your interests, and send your digests (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
- To measure whether digests are being read, if you leave open tracking on (legitimate interests, and you can opt out).
- To send service messages about your account or changes to these policies (contract and legal obligation).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.
4. AI processing
We use language models to expand your interests into search terms, translate and summarise articles, and score their relevance. These models run on infrastructure we control; your interests and account details are not sent to third-party AI providers. AI output can be wrong, so every item in your digest links to the original source.
5. Searching the web on your behalf
To find content, we send search queries derived from your interests to public services such as Google News, Bing News, Hacker News, Wikipedia, Reddit and arXiv, and we read public RSS feeds and, in Deep Scan mode, public web pages (respecting robots.txt). These requests come from our servers, identify the FomoDaily crawler, and do not include your name, email or account details.
6. Shared crawling and other users
To avoid doing the same work twice, interests that mean the same thing are matched together and crawled once. Crawled articles are public content and may appear in the digests of several people. Other users never see your identity, your interests, or your digests.
7. Who we share information with
| Recipient | Why |
|---|---|
| Google LLC / Microsoft Corporation | Authenticate you when you choose to sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to that sign-in. |
| Email delivery provider | Deliver your digests (receives your email address and the digest content). |
| Hosting and infrastructure providers | Store and process data on our behalf under contract. |
| Authorities | Only where legally required. |
Where providers are located outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep it
- Account, interests and preferences: until you delete your account.
- Digest history: 180 days, then deleted automatically.
- Crawl and server logs: up to 30 days.
- Deleted accounts: removed immediately from our live systems; any residual copies in backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and the Australian Privacy Act) you can access, correct, port, restrict or delete your information, and object to some processing. Most of this is self-service:
- Download your data: Settings → Privacy & data → Export.
- Delete your account and all associated data: Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account.
- Stop emails: the unsubscribe link in every email, or Settings.
For anything else, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Cookies
We only use essential cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
11. Security
We use HTTPS, sign-in via established identity providers (no passwords for us to lose), HTTP-only session cookies, and access controls on our systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
12. Children
FomoDaily is not for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.
13. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for material changes, ask you to review the new version when you next sign in.
